SALEM — Volunteer David Hughes recently reinstalled the Salem Historical Society sign on South Lundy Avenue after it was damaged by a windstorm several months ago. Thanks to his efforts, the sign has been restored to its original place, preserving an important piece of local history.

Hughes is one of many dedicated volunteers who give their time to support the community.

Those who have ever considered becoming a volunteer, the Salem Historical Society is always looking for individuals with a variety of interests and skills. Stop by and talk about how to help.

The historical society offices are located in the upper level of the Dale Shaffer Research Library and are open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Starting at $2.99/week.
