Chick-fil-A truck in Lisbon
The Chick-fil-A food truck will be in Lisbon on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from noon to 2 p.m. The food truck will set up shop in the parking lot at Save-A-Lot at 201 E. Lincoln Way. The truck will be selling regular chicken sandwiches, spicy chicken sandwiches, cool wraps, chips and drinks. Chick-fil-A will be donating part of their proceeds to the Lisbon Landmark Foundation to help restore our historic downtown.
Friends of BCSP breakfast
The Friends of Beaver Creek State Park are holding their August pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday in the barn in Pioneer Village. The menu includes buttermilk pancakes or buckwheat pancakes, as well as grits, maple syrup or a variety of homemade syrups, sausage, juice or coffee. The cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children under 6.
Oktoberfest in East Liverpool
The 14th Annual East Liverpool Area Rotary Oktoberfest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Thompson Park in East Liverpool from noon to 8 p.m for a day filled with German food, beer/wine, craft vendors, kids activities, polka music and more. For more information or to sign up as a vendor, please contact eloktoberfest@gmail.com. The deadline to apply as a vendor is Sept. 20.
CAACC Purse Bingo
The Community Action Council of Columbiana County will hold a Purse Bingo, Saturday Sept. 13 from 4-8 p.m. for a night of fun with 10 games and 10 opportunities to win a designer bag. The event will also feature a bonus game, door prizes, 50/50 and raffle baskets and more. Tickets are $35 each. Purchase six or more tickets to reserve a table/seats for your group. Due to limited availability, online ticket sales are being monitored through a short request form at.surveymonkey.com/r/6RHGMMZ. A limited cash or check payment will be taken at the CACC Administrative Office. Call 330-424-7221 to check availability before stopping in. Exact change is requested and checks are to be made payable to CAACC.
Garden speaker series planned
The Ohio State University Extension – Mahoning County invites the public to attend Using What You Have Grown, a free garden speaker series event designed to help home gardeners make the most of their fresh-picked produce. The program will take place at Flying High Grow Urban Farm, 100 Broadway, Youngstown, OH 44505 on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Participants will enjoy live cooking demonstrations, fresh samples, and easy, garden-inspired recipes that can be recreated at home. The class will also share tips for extending the life of your harvest through proper storage and preservation, as well as creative ways to use garden bounty beyond the usual salads and stir-fries.
