Salem Music Study Club free concert
Salem Music Study Club will continue its 2025-2026 season on Wednesday Sept. 24 at 7 p.m., on 251 S. Broadway Ave., at the sanctuary of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church (noting a location change) featuring a local quintet named Sassabrass. Musicians are Bill Young-trumpet, Mark Galpin-trumpet, John Berthold-trombone, Sherry Ayers-French horn, and founder Kirk Hofmeister-tuba, they have performed in many places in the Salem area and recently in Columbiana for their concert series. Guests are welcome. There will be refreshments, and a meeting about planning the Festival of Choirs to be held on Nov. 30 at the First United Methodist Church in Salem. The Salem Music Study Club was organized in 1924 in Salem, Ohio, and federated with the National Federation of Music Clubs in 1925. The club is affiliated with the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) and the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs (OFMC) now in it’s 101st season.
