Lisbon Historical Society Cambridge bus trip
Lisbon Historical Society is sponsoring a bus trip to Cambridge on Saturday, Nov. 8. The costumed guide embarking at Cambridge will tell the group the story of the Dickens Victorian Village while passing the 163 mannequins in 96 scenes that line the street. After a quick stop at Kennedy’s Bakery, the group will visit the Dickens Welcome Center to learn how the mannequins are made, dress in Victorian costumes, make photo memories and learn more about the Dickens Victorian Village. Additional time allows for visiting unique and antique shops, strolling the street viewing the mannequin scenes and reading the plaques describing Victorian time. Later the group will travel to the Cambridge Country Club to have an elegant tea with Queen Victoria featuring a four-course meal while the queen tells stories of her life in London. Next, the group will return to downtown to watch the Dickens Courthouse Holiday Light Show for an hour, with over 85,000 lights synchronized to holiday music. The cost is $110.
