Meet-and-Greets planned in Salem
Two meet-and-greets, featuring candidates in the Nov. 4 election will be held this Saturday in Salem.
At 11 a.m., the Salem Walk and Pray Meet-and-Greet will present its two endorsed candidates for Salem BOE, Christina Burchfield and Theodore Bricker. The event will be held at the Memorial Building, 785 E. State St.
From 1-3 p.m. a community-focused meet-and-greet be held at Church of Our Savior, 870 E. State St.
All candidates for Salem BOE, council, Perry Township trustees and municipal judge were invited to participate.
Attendee candidates will include Christina Burchfield, George Begalla, Billy Davidson, Austin French, Heather Smith, Michael Kripchak and others. Light refreshments will be provided.
Both meet-and-greets are open to the public and are not affiliated with each other.
Play That Goes Wrong at MHS
Minerva High School will present the award-winning comedy “The Play That Goes Wrong!” at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 through 8, with a 2 p.m. matinee Nov. 8. There will be two separate casts alternating performances, with Cast A performing Nov. 6 and 8 at 7 p.m. and Cast B performing Nov. 7 and the Nov. 8 matinee. Join the Cornley University Drama Society as they valiantly attempt to stage a 1920’s murder mystery – only for everything imaginable (and unimaginable) to go hilariously awry. From collapsing sets and misplaced props to miscues and mayhem, the cast and crew’s earnest efforts result in side-splitting disaster. Tickets are available for presale through cast members and the Minerva High School Office, $6 for students and $9 for adults. All tickets sold at the door are $12.
EP Social Concerns holiday assistance
East Palestine Social Concerns will be preparing for holiday assistance. Harvest Sunday food collections will be held in local churches Oct. 26 and Nov. 2. Food donations can also be left at the East Palestine Library and Sparkle Market from Nov. 1 through Dec. 6.
Sign-up for Thanksgiving assistance will be Monday, Oct. 27 at the Centenary Methodist Church from 10:30 a.m. to noon and 5 to 6 p.m. Sign-up for Christmas is at the same place and times on Monday, Nov. 3. This holiday assistance is only for residents of the East Palestine School District, so proof of residence is required.
