EP Ealges drive thru dinner
East Palestine Eagles will host their monthly sirloin tip and noodle drive thru dinner on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. or sold out. Dinner includes tips and noodles, coleslaw, roll and dessert for $11. Call 330-853-8483 to reserve meals.
Minerva Christmas parade
Minerva’s annual Christmas parade is set for Saturday, Dec. 6, with line up at Minerva Elementary School at 2 p.m. The parade will begin at 3 p.m., proceeding up Bonnieview, turning right on East Line Street, then right on North Market Street, and ending at the Minerva Schools bus-garage parking lot. There is no charge to participate. Salem Music Study Club
The Salem Music Study Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the parlor of the educational building next to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Broadway Avenue. Discussion will include finalizing the Festival of Choirs on Nov. 30 at the First United Methodist Church. Then there will be a program on Alan Menken led by Dean Wennerstrom and Mike Newman, with refreshments available afterward. Members of the organization will be included in the program; members and guests are always welcome. The Salem Music Study Club is a member of the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs and the National Federation of Music Clubs.
Master Gardener program
Residents with a passion for gardening, nature, and community service are invited to apply for the Ohio State University Extension Mahoning County Master Gardener Volunteer (MGV) and Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist (OCVN) programs. Applications for both programs are due Friday, Dec. 5. The Master Gardener Volunteer Program provides in-depth horticulture training for individuals who want to share science-based gardening knowledge and support local educational programs. The Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Program offers training in ecology, wildlife, and environmental stewardship for volunteers interested in natural resource education and outreach. Both programs combine classroom and hands-on learning, preparing participants to engage in meaningful volunteer projects across Mahoning County and beyond. Mount Union ‘Christmas Carol’
The University of Mount Union Department of Performing Arts will present “Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol” Nov. 20 through 23 in Brush Performance Hall of the Giese Center for the Performing Arts. The Christmas Carol adaptation was written by Kevin P. Kern, associate professor of theatre, and will be directed by senior theatre and music major Tucker Gayhart. “Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol” will feature Kern as Ebenezer Scrooge. Keith Miller, Mount Union associate professor of biochemistry, will serve as the show’s narrator and Beth Polen, director of choral activities, will play Mrs. Fezziwig. The following students are part of the production: Andrea Dager of Alliance and Ilani Jones-Wallace of Salem. The show also includes community members Caleb Chavez, PJ Chavez, Scott Crim, Aiden Kern, Ellie Kern, Caylen Root, Clayton Russell and Penny Russell. Thursday through Saturday performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday matinee will start at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and veterans.
