LISBON — Rev. Donna Shuman of Lisbon Assembly of God Church is looking for some help again this year from the community to provide gift cards to teens in foster care in Columbiana County and possibly other areas for Christmas.

The deadline to submit money or gift cards is Dec. 14. Shuman first made the appeal for gift cards in 2023, with a response of more than 188 gift cards.

The appeal is known as the Foster Teen Christmas Outreach, sponsored by Father’s Heart, Ohio Ministry Network. She explained that teens in foster care can sometimes get overlooked so the Foster Teen Christmas Outreach was formed to help them.

The hope is to get at least two $25 gift cards from Amazon or Walmart for each foster teen ages 13 through 17. If enough gift cards are received to cover the local teens, the rest will be donated for foster teens throughout the state.

Cash donations will be accepted also for Shuman to purchase gift cards to donate.
