SALEM — The Salem Historical Society will open its doors to the public on Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Freedom Hall, home to the society’s extensive military collection. The event will feature exhibits highlighting the service and sacrifice of local veterans, including military uniforms from World War I through Desert Storm, a signed MIA flag, medals, photographs of Salem veterans, and other military artifacts.
Veterans are especially encouraged to attend and share their personal stories and experiences, helping to preserve Salem’s proud military heritage for future generations.
“We are honored to recognize the courage and dedication of our veterans,” said Keith Mann, volunteer and docent. “Their stories are an essential part of our community’s history, and we hope many will join us in commemorating their service.”
The Salem Historical Society’s Veterans Day open house is free and open to the public.
