Lepper Library offering a variety of activities in January
LISBON – Lepper Library will host a variety of upcoming events.
Winter Reading Bingo: Visit the circulation desk to get a Bingo Reading Card. Complete a line on the bingo card and turn it back in for a chance to win a prize package. Reading cards are unlimited; read as much as you want.
Writer’s Group: 2 p.m. Jan. 3 and Feb. 7. Join fellow writers to discuss topics such as writing, publishing and grammar. To receive constructive critiques, submit five pages a week in advance to dolly@lepperlibrary.org.
January Craft Class: Bust Out Canvas, 5 to 7 p.m., Jan. 8. The “Bust Out Canvas” craft is a project where a stretched canvas is cut and to reveal a shadow box beneath, creating a 3D effect, resembling something “exploding” or “breaking through.” The group will be creating a winter scene, but feel free to bring a photo or picture, preferably the size of a postcard, if you wish to incorporate it into your project.
January Snowman Scavenger Hunt: Search the stacks for the Snowman before he melts and report his location to the circulation desk. You will receive a small prize and an entry into the drawing for the Snowman.
Let’s Get Wicked: 11 a.m. to noon Jan. 3. Help celebrate the movie “Wicked for Good” and create Wicked bookmarks to start a new year of reading. This activity is geared toward school age children and teens. All supplies will be provided. No registration is required.
Evening Storytime: 6 p.m. Jan. 5. Come in pajamas and bring a stuffed animal. The group will sing songs, listen to winter themed stories, and make a craft. This storytime is for toddlers and preschoolers. No registration is required.
Writers’ Group, Adult Craft Classes, and Moving and Grooving Preschool Storytime are all made possible in part by state tax dollars given by the Ohio Legislature to the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). The OAC is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically.
