Salem Historical Society America250 coloring book
As a special feature honoring the nation’s 250th birthday, David Shivers, curator of the Salem Historical Society, has introduced a new series of monthly coloring pages to accompany the Society’s 2026 calendar. The coloring pages highlight influential people, significant events, and notable places that shaped Salem’s history. School-aged children are invited to participate in a monthly coloring contest using these specially designed pages. The January 2026 coloring page will be available for download on Christmas Day at salemhistoricalsociety.org. The website also includes downloadable guidelines explaining how to submit completed coloring pages for the contest. This initiative provides a meaningful opportunity to engage young people in conversations about the inspirational individuals and historic moments that helped build our community. Teachers who would like to use the coloring pages as a classroom project are encouraged to contact the Salem Historical Society at 330-337-8514.
