CAT Family Fun Day
COLUMBIANA — Families are invited to enjoy an afternoon filled with laughter, amazement, and unforgettable moments at Family Fun Day – featuring magician Robert Lane, happening Saturday, Feb. 28, from 3 to 5 p.m. at The Columbiana Arts Theater.
Designed for audiences of all ages, Family Fun Day promises two hours of pure family joy. The highlight of the afternoon is a high-energy live performance by magician Robert Lane, whose engaging show combines comedy, illusion, and jaw-dropping magic that keeps kids wide-eyed and adults laughing along.
Adding to the excitement, close-up magician Mark Miller will be roaming throughout the theater, delighting guests with interactive tricks and mind-bending sleight-of-hand performed just inches away. From the stage to the lobby, magic will be happening everywhere.

Negely Masons soup
The Negley Masonic Lodge, 722 Meadow Lane, Columbiana, will host a Soup Night for its monthly dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. or until sold out Saturday, Jan. 17. The menu will include chili, chicken noodle, beef vegetable and more for $12, including bread, dessert and beverage. Carry out is $8 per quart. Half the proceeds are going to be donated toward the Heroes and Halos, a non-profit organization that provides awareness, education and outreach programs to the public regarding individuals with Special Needs and Disabilities. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.
Pumpkin growing
The Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers Club is offering its annual Beginner’s Giant Pumpkin Growers free seminar Saturday, Jan. 31 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Parks Garden Center in Canfield. Site selection, soil testing and preparation, soil/plant health, fertility options, pest management, seed selection, patch irrigation, culture and care are all covered. Many of the very successful club members will be on hand to help participants get started on their journey to becoming the next epic grower. All of these growing principles can also be applied to growing vegetable and flower gardens. Lepper Library events
LISBON — Lepper Library will host the following upcoming events:
Oreo Snowman Pop: 4 to 5 p.m. Jan. 15. Even though the holidays have passed, these Oreo Snowman Pops are super cute and fun to create and eat during the wintertime.
Armchair Travel with Meredith Dingey: 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 26. Enjoy another captivating travel tale from Meredith, who recounts her hiking adventure along the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain. Registrations are encouraged.
Snowball Games: 11 a.m. to noon Jan. 17. Sign up for a morning of fun and snowball games. Using play snowballs, participants will have Relay Snowball Pile On Game. All Are ages are welcome and sign up is required.
Oreo Snowman Pop Class and Moving and Grooving Preschool Storytime are all made possible in part by state tax dollars given by the Ohio Legislature to the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). The OAC is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically.
