For Love of the Playground
COLUMBIANA — The community is invited to the third annual For the Love of the Playground event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Birdfish Brewery in Columbiana.
This annual family-friendly celebration brings together neighbors, local businesses, and supporters to raise funds and awareness for the Columbiana Project Playground.
This year’s event will feature a public project update and check presentation beginning at 1 p.m., recognizing generous community contributions and highlighting ongoing progress.
The event also includes a good truck, soda stand, youth activities, a drawing for more than 30 raffle baskets and a fresh batch of IPA brewed for the occasion.
This event also will be the one and only opportunity to pick up naming pickets from the original Funland Playground. These pickets, installed as part of the 1995 build, carry deep sentimental value for many families.
Note that due to decades of exposure and natural wear, many of the pickets no longer exist or are damaged, and the committee cannot be responsible for their condition. There is no cost to retrieve a picket, but the committee appreciates any and all donations to support the continued progress of the new playground.
This is a free event open to the public.
All proceeds support the development of an inclusive, state-of-the-art playground that will serve children and families for generations to come.
