MCCTC student makes program history with dual CompTIA certifications

COOPER TERZIU

CANFIELD — Mahoning County Career and Technical Center recognizes Cooper Terziu for a historic achievement in the Networking & Cybersecurity program. Cooper has become the first student in program history to earn both the CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications, a major milestone in the field of information technology.

Cooper passed the CompTIA Network+ certification exam with an exceptional score of 850 out of 900 (94%), far exceeding the passing score of 720. His accomplishment reflects a high level of technical knowledge, dedication, and commitment to excellence in cybersecurity and networking.

“Earning the CompTIA Network+ is impressive on its own, but achieving both the Network+ and A+ while still in high school is incredibly rare,” said Cooper’s instructor, Alex Benson. “These certifications place a student years ahead of the typical IT career pathway. It speaks volumes about his work ethic, his skill, and his future potential in the industry.”

In addition to his academic success, Cooper is gaining valuable real-world experience through MCCTC’s work-release program, where he works as a Level 1 Technician at Avrem Technologies, LLC. This opportunity allows him to apply his technical training in a professional IT environment.

After graduation, Cooper plans to continue his education at Kent State University, building on the strong foundation he has established at MCCTC.
