Banquet in Lisbon

The New Lisbon Presbyterian Church will host the Banquet in Lisbon, a free community meal, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday. The Latter Day Saints will sponsor the meal of chicken legs, baked potato, green beans, applesauce, rolls, salad, fruit, water and milk. Carryouts after 6 p.m. if available. Donations accepted.

Agritourism workshop

Ohio State University Extension will host an Agritourism Ready: Emergency Preparedness and Risk Mitigation for Agritourism Operations workshop on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mahoning County Extension Office, 490 S. Broad St., Canfield. This workshop is designed to help agritourism operators develop practical, effective emergency preparedness plans tailored to their unique operations. Participants will learn strategies to protect visitors and staff, reduce risk, and respond confidently to a variety of emergency situations. The program will be led by Rob Leeds, OSU Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator in Delaware County, who brings extensive experience in agritourism safety, risk management, and emergency planning. The cost to attend is $20 per person, which includes lunch, educational materials, and a take-home emergency preparedness plan binder that participants can customize for their own agritourism operations. Gardening speaker series

Mahoning County Extension will present Morning with the Masters, a free educational speaker series offered in partnership with the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. The series will take place throughout 2026, with programs held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 11 a.m. to noon at library locations across Mahoning County.

Led by Ohio State University Master Gardener Volunteers, Morning with the Masters will feature presentations on gardening, environmental science, wildlife, and sustainable landscapes. Topics are designed for gardeners of all experience levels and focus on practical, research-based information attendees can use at home.

Programs will continue throughout the year at library branches across the county, covering topics such as pollinators, birds, citizen science, soil health, lawn care, and backyard wildlife.

All sessions are free and open to the public, and registration is not required.

Mile Branch soup sale

Mile Branch Grange, 495 Knox School Road, Alliance, will hold their monthly drive-thru soup sale on Thursday, Feb. 12. Cost is $9 per quart. This month’s soups will be broccoli cheese and vegetable beef. Soup must be preordered by noon on Wednesday, Feb. 11. Soup will be available for pick up from 4 to 6 p.m. It will be packaged and delivered directly to cars. Call 330-821-8023 to reserve soup. Leave name, phone number, type of soup and number of quarts.

SRMC pop-up sale

Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is hosting a Nothing Bundt Cakes “Bundtlet” sale on Friday, Feb. 13. Bundtlets will be sold for $7 each while supplies last, with 20% of the proceeds given back to SRMC to support patient care. A variety of flavors will be offered. Cash, credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay will be accepted. The sale will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby on the ground floor. Pre-order forms are also available in SRMC’s Look Nook Gift Shop and must be submitted to Nothing Bundt Cakes by Feb. 10. For information, call 330-337-2883.

Unity Twp. road closure

State Line Road in Unity Township will be closed between Chain School and Heck roads Feb. 10 and 11 for subsurface drilling for a bridge foundation.

CCCTC conferences

The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center will hold its 2025-2026 second semester parent teacher conferences on Thursday, Feb. 12 from 2:15 ti 8:45 p.m. To schedule a conference with a student’s teachers, contact the school at 330-424-9561 Ext. 110 and speak to Cindy Pugh.

Leetonia council meeting

Leetonia council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in special session at village hall to contract with a phone, IT and printer provider.
