Salem Historical Society meeting
The March Membership meeting for the Salem Historical Society, scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, has been canceled. The April meeting is scheduled for April 14 at 7 p.m. The society’s by-laws have been revised and members will review proposed changes and vote on accepting said changes. Monthly meetings are free and open to the public every second Tuesday of each month from April through December. After a brief business meeting, the society sponsors a program where guests have the opportunity to hear from various speakers who love and share their knowledge of historical places and events. The meeting room is in the lower level of the Dale Shaffer Research Library with the door facing 239 S. Lundy Ave. Parking is available in the municipal lot across the street. Banquet in Salem
The Dine in or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building will be sponsored by Friends of the Banquet. The menu will include fried chicken, diced potatoes with onions and peppers, corn, fresh vegetables and fruit, and pudding. Dine in will park in designated area behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. Traffic signal upgrades in Salem
The Ohio Department of Transportation will be updating the traffic signal system at 12 intersections within the city of Salem. Traffic will be maintained at all times throughout the project. The completion date is spring 2026.
