LISBON – Andrew Henderson is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s January Student of the Month.
Andrew is a senior from Lisbon David Anderson High School and is enrolled in the Automotive Collision Repair (ACR) Program under the instruction of Rick DeSalvo.
Andrew is a member of the SkillsUSA Chapter at the CCCTC. He was formerly employed at the Salem Quaker Drag Strip and currently works at Walmart where he will be transitioning into the automotive department.
Andrew has earned certifications in OSHA 10 and ASE Entry Level Credentials in Collision Non-structural Analysis & Damage Repair, Collision Painting & Refinishing, and Collision Structural Analysis & Damage Repair.
Andrew plans to use the skills and certifications that he has obtained through his time as a student in the ACR program at the CCCTC to pursue a career in the automotive field and secure a good job in order to live a long, happy, and healthy life with his own family.
Andrew stated, “The CCCTC was a good choice for me because I got to learn things that I love doing, and it’s made me a better person in life and has led me to become the person I want to be.”
Andrew was nominated by DeSalvo, who stated, “Andrew has grown and matured as a young man from his junior to his senior year. He works hard in the classroom and also in the lab. Andrew’s senior project is one of the more challenging projects that have been in the program, and he demonstrates his determination and commitment to complete his project. He has other students that are assisting with this project, and as the team leader, he shows respect and gratitude towards his classmates/coworkers. One particular area of growth that really stands out to me about Andrew is his drive to work through some adversity in his life, and he is showing me that he is able to overcome challenges.”
Andrew is the son of Nicholas and Amanda Henderson.
