Three Columbiana robotics teams advanced to state competition for the first time in district history. Earlier this season, the Birb Gang won the Design Award on the way to qualify for the elementary state champion, while the Purple Pringles secured a state birth through their high Driving and Autonomous Score. At the middle school robotics finals on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center qualifier, the Cheeto Puffs won first place in Teamwork Matches and in Robot Skills as well as brought home the Innovate Award Trophy to advance to the March2-3 VEXIQ Ohio State Robotics Championship in Dayton.
