HOMEWORTH — The West Branch Area Ladies Ruritan Club gathered for its annual Christmas party Dec. 8 at Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church in Homeworth. A meal prepared by the church was enjoyed as well as musical entertainment, a gift exchange, and games with prizes awarded. Each of the members baked two dozen cookies to donate to area volunteer fire departments and Knox township crew.

The club held its annual organizational meeting Feb. 16 at North Georgetown Church of the Brethren. The January meeting was canceled due to bad weather.

Club officers were installed, upcoming banquets, zone meetings, fund raising events, and regular meetings were slated. Beverly Yaggi provided the program with helpful household tips that were environmentally friendly. Robin Meyer offered refreshments for attending members to enjoy. The next meeting will be held Monday, March 16.
