LCBA Salem branch meeting Thursday

Members of the Loyal Christian Benevolent Association, Salem Branch 687, will meet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Salem Senior Housing, 996 W. Perry St., Salem. Washingtonville VFW fish dinners

Washingtonville VFW Post 5532 will host Friday fish dinners from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. through April 3. The Columbiana County Democratic Women’s Caucus will host a Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sale from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Lisbon Lions Club, 38240 Industrial Park Road, Lisbon. Cost is $10 for adults and free for children 7 years and under.

appointment

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine recently appointed Jessica A. Borza of Lisbon to the Governor’s Executive Workforce Board for a term beginning Feb. 27 and continuing at the pleasure of the governor.

USO-style tribute

Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center continues its 2025-2026 Clearview Federal Credit Union Subscription Series, Find Your Way! with All Hands On Deck, a USO-style tribute presented in the MainStage Theater for one weekend only, Thursday, March 19 through Sunday, March 22. Patterned after the beloved USO Big Band road shows that once traveled the country lifting spirits during uncertain times, this musical and dance spectacular features more than 40 American classics, including “Chattanooga Choo-Choo,” “Pennsylvania Polka,” “Deep in the Heart of Texas,” “America the Beautiful,” “Don’t Fence Me In,” and “Thanks for the Memory.” The production is directed by Sharon Schaller, resident artist at Lincoln Park, with choreography by Broadway star and Lincoln Park alum Amber Ardolino. EPGO’s Emergency Room program

“Staying out of the Emergency Room” will be a program presented by Dr. Joseph Cataline at the EPGO Gathering on Friday, March 13, at 1:30 p.m. at The Way Station, 109 Rebecca St., East Palestine (former Presbyterian Church). The event is free and open to everyone. Cataline will discuss reasons seniors end up in the ER and what can be done to prevent it. Participants will learn how to spot early symptoms and manage chronic conditions so they know when to seek the proper care. This informational session is designed to help every one stay healthier and more confident at home. Following the program participants can explore the EPGO free Winter Walking Program and Fitness Challenges located in the lower level. Guests can park in the side parking lot and enter by that door.

LISBON — The Lepper Library will host the following events this week:

Writers’ Group: Saturday, March 7, at 2 p.m. Join fellow writers to discuss topics such as writing, publishing, and grammar.

Seed Swap: Kick off a garden this March by visiting the library for free seeds while supplies last. The seed library offers a variety of options, including annuals, herbs, perennials, and vegetables. Enjoy gardening, save money, and promote sharing. Thanks to Burpee Seed Company and local gardeners for their donations. The limit is three packets per person.

Morning Toddlers and Preschool Storytimes: Tuesday, March 3, at 10 and 11 a.m. During morning storytime wear the craziest socks as the group reads Fox in Socks and other favorite books by Dr. Seuss. Sing songs and make a craft.

Writers’ Group, Adult Craft Classes, Moving and Grooving Preschool Storytime are all made possible in part by state tax dollars given by the Ohio Legislature to the Ohio Arts Council (OAC).
