Y & O Road tree trimming
Beginning March 18, Y & O Road between Annesley and East Liverpool roads in St. Clair Township will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily for tree trimming. The closures will continue until the project is complete.

Mount Wind Ensemble Concert
ALLIANCE -- The Performing Arts Department of the University of Mount Union will present a Wind Ensemble Concert, under the direction of Lori Burse, on March 22 at 3 p.m. in Brush Performance Hall in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts. The concert will feature works by Clifton Williams, Josh Trentadue, Modeste Moussorgsky and Eric Leidzen. Local students performing as part of the ensemble include Katrina Asano of Alliance, Camron Bodine of Salem, Hailey Dray of Minerva, Samantha Drysdale of Wellsville, Ina Fryfogle of Salem, Josiah Haas of Salem and Ricky Short of Salem. Community members participating include; Brian Burse of Alliance, Kaia Canavan of Alliance, Opal Currey of Cleveland, Amanda DeFays of North Canton, Alaina Schluneker of Alliance and Allison Harris of Akron. OSU-Ext. landscaping program
CANFIELD - Homeowners and gardening enthusiasts are invited to attend "All About the Landscape," an educational workshop focused on proper pruning and landscape maintenance, hosted by OSU Extension Mahoning County in partnership with Boardman Park and the Mahoning Valley Landscape and Nursery Association.
The workshop will take place Tuesday, March 31, at 5:30 p.m. at Boardman Park and will provide practical guidance on keeping landscapes healthy, attractive, and productive. Participants will learn how proper pruning can encourage stronger plant growth, maximize flower potential, reduce disease, and improve the overall shape of trees and shrubs.
Extension educators and landscape professionals will demonstrate proper pruning techniques and tools, helping attendees understand when and how to prune different landscape plants. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice pruning on trees and shrubs in the park's gardens, gaining hands-on experience with guidance from experts.
The program is open to the public, and participants are encouraged to dress for outdoor conditions and bring a lawn chair if desired.
The registration fee is $5 per person, payable to OSU Extension. To register, complete the registration form and return it with payment or call 330-533-5538 for phone registration.
