LISBON – Christopher Johnson is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s February Student of the Month.

Chris is a senior from Crestview High School and is enrolled in the Automotive Technology (AT) Program under the instruction of Brian Neff.

Chris is a member of the SkillsUSA Chapter at the CCCTC. At Crestview, he is a member of the bowling team. In addition, he is a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

Chris has worked many jobs during his high school years. He has been employed in both janitorial work and in the fast food industry. Upon completing his junior year courses in the automotive technology program, he was able to gain employment in the field of automotive repair by beginning a job with a dealership.

Chris has earned certifications in all 10 ASEs as well as his OSHA-10.

Upon graduation, Chris plans to continue to work at his current employment as well as complete Fire and EMS classes. Long-term, he would like to become a master technician through Mopar and become a firefighter and EMT.

Chris stated, “The CCCTC was a good choice for me because it got me out of a traditional classroom and into a hands-on learning environment which led to me getting a job in the field that I wanted to be in.”

Chris was nominated by Neff, who stated, “From the start of his junior year, Chris has demonstrated a clear drive to succeed as an automotive technician, consistently maximizing every opportunity the CCCTC offers to build his skills. He has earned all 10 ASE certifications and OSHA-10 achievements that reflect both technical proficiency and a commitment to industry standards. Chris actively participates in the work-based learning program, applying classroom knowledge to real-world settings and showing reliability on the job. His strong work ethic and eagerness to learn make him a valuable addition to any shop environment. I am confident Chris will continue to excel and assume greater responsibility as he advances in the automotive field.”

Chris is the son of Chris and Christina Johnson.
