SRMC to host free educational seminar on colorectal cancer at Columbiana site
SALEM – Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) will host a free educational seminar, “Understanding Colorectal Cancer: Prevention & Screening,” from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the SRMC Surgery & Outpatient Pavilion, 400 Town Center Avenue in Columbiana.
William S. Lee, M.D., FACS, a board-certified general surgeon will present the seminar. Topics to be discussed include: Identifying personal risk factors, the latest prevention strategies and life-saving screening options.
“Education is our strongest tool in the fight against colorectal cancer,” said Lee. “By understanding screening options and the value of early detection, we can treat the disease more effectively or, in many cases, prevent it altogether.”
The seminar will take place in the Myers Family Insurance Reception Area of the Firestone Surgery Center, located on the Pavilion’s second floor. Tours of the Surgery Center will be provided following Lee’s presentation.
Advance reservations are required by calling Amy Reed, SRMC Director of Development, at 330-337-2883. Seating is limited. Light refreshments will also be served.
