spring book sale
Lepper Library in Lisbon will hold its Spring Book Sale on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a wide selection of adult, teens and children’s books, audios, and movies. The prices are hardbacks $1, paperbacks 50 cents, audios and DVDs $1, all children’s books 25cents and magazines are free with any purchase. The sale will take place at the library, 303 E. Indigo Family Theater’s Godspell at The CAT
Indigo Family Theater will bring Godspell to the stage at The Columbiana Arts Theater (The CAT), May 14-17. SRMC skin cancer
screeings in Columbiana
SALEM – With skin cancer ranking as the most common form of cancer in the U.S., early detection remains the most effective way to ensure successful treatment. During Skin Cancer Awareness Month this May, Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Linda Camp, M.D., FACS, will offer complimentary skin cancer screenings at SRMC Plastic Surgery in Columbiana.
Screenings will be provided by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following Thursdays in May:

Exams consist of 10-minute sessions and will be limited to two lesions or areas of concern on the body. The screening cannot be used to replace an existing appointment at SRMC Plastic Surgery.
“Our goal is to catch potential cancers early, before they have a chance to spread,” Camp said. “Early detection opens the door to more effective treatments and significantly better outcomes for our patients.”

New Garden Methodist Church rummage sale
New Garden Methodist Church, 7165 state Route 9, will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 7 and 8, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 9. Free hot dogs and drink will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 7 and 8, and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 9.
St. Paul Parish
‘Ministry Fair’
St. Paul Parish in Salem will hold a “Ministry Fair” on Saturday, May 16 at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 17 at noon. This parish event is designed to showcase various ministries, encourage volunteerism (stewardship of time and talent), and express gratitude to current volunteers.
