Dine in or Drive Thru Banquet
The Dine in or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building will be sponsored by Friends of the Banquet. The menu will include fried chicken, diced potatoes with onions and peppers, corn, coleslaw, fresh vegetables and fruit, and pudding. Dine in will park in designated area behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. Salem Saxon Scholarship Fund applications
The Salem Saxon Scholarship Fund trustees have announced that 2026 scholarship application forms are now available at the guidance offices of Salem, West Branch, and United high schools. All students who meet eligibility are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and plan to be enrolled in and attend a post high school educational program in the fall of 2026. The completed scholarship applications and required attachments are due no later than May 29. This is the 40th year that the fund has been awarding scholarships to area high school students. The scholarships are funded through donations and other fund-raising events. Donations may be made in honor of a student or as a memorial to a loved one. KOC youth fishing tournament
The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a free fishing tournament for youth 14 and under at the Salem City Reservoir, Gamble Road, Lisbon on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to noon. Must bring own fishing rod, bait will be provided. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served at noon during the award presentations. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
