COLUMBIANA – Benjamin Firestone Unit #290 American Legion Auxiliary in Columbiana will be co-sponsoring four students from Columbiana High School to attended Buckeye Girls State (BGS) 80th annual session to be held at Bowling Green State University June 7-13.

BGS is a fast paced program of mock government at the state, county and city levels. The main objective of the program is to train young women who have completed their junior year of high school, in the duties, rights and privileges of citizenship by providing the attendee the opportunity to actively participate in a democratic form of government. Nearly 600 girls participate in this workshop sponsored by the Ohio American Legion Auxiliary.

Joining the Columbiana Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary in sponsoring delegates are the New Waterford Lions, Columbiana Rotary Club, Youngstown Area Business and Professional Club and an anonymous sponsor.
