LISBON – Lisbon McKinley Elementary Intervention Specialist Denise Keffer recently received a $500 grant from the Columbiana County Retired Teachers Association (CCRTA). The award was presented during a luncheon where Keffer and McKinley Elementary Principal Dan Kemats joined other local educators to discuss their latest classroom initiatives.
The grant funding directly supports Keffer’s specialized project titled “Color Coded for Success.” The initiative focuses on utilizing visual organization to enhance student learning and daily structure. Thanks to the CCRTA funding, Keffer purchased a high-quality color printer and essential ink supplies. The new equipment allows for creating customized, color-coded resources tailored to individual student needs.
“I am pleased to share that I have been awarded a $500 grant from the Columbiana County Retired Teachers Association,” said Keffer. “This funding allowed me to purchase a color printer and ink, which will support the development of color-coded student accommodations, progress monitoring tools, task boards, instructional materials, student schedules, and behavior supports.”
