Mahoning County Junior Fair Board officers encourage members to apply for scholarships

CANFIELD – The 2026 Mahoning County Junior Fair Board elected officers at the March meeting.

Officers include President Landon Frank, Vice President Grace Ewing, Secretary-Treasurer Emory Close, Assistant Secretary-Treasurer Valerie Weikart and News Reporter Berkeley Corey. Junior Fair Manager Kim Moff talked about the importance of being leaders in youth organizations and she encouraged members to apply for the many scholarships that are available through the Junior Fair.

Fair board members assisted with the Annual Berlin – Ellsworth Community Easter Egg Hunt held at Western Reserve Schools on April 3. Members put out over 13,000 candy filled eggs and distribute numerous prizes to the anxious winners.

The Annual Junior Fair Board Picnic will be in held in The Michael Kusalauba Fund Event Center on Thursday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m. Special Guests will include the Canfield Fair Senior Fair Board members as well as Mahoning County Livestock Committee Members.

Junior Fair Board Members signed up to assist with the May 5 Agricultural Day at the fairgrounds, May 16 Market Livestock Tagging and to help set up the for the June 13 and 14 Small Animal Fun Show at the fairgrounds.
