Pasta dinner, Chinese auction to benefit Salineville fire chief

SALINEVILLE — The Salineville Volunteer Fire Department will host a pasta dinner and Chinese auction from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the fire hall to benefit Fire Chief Jeff Lewis in his battle against cancer.

Lewis is going through active treatment and the department has been actively raising funds to help cover his medical expenses.

Recently, the department dedicated the last Friday of the Lenten fish fry to benefit the chief.

Besides the pasta dinner, the event on Saturday will include lots of baskets for a basket raffle. Shirts to support Jeff’s Journey can be ordered during the benefit also.

Shirts already ordered by the previous April 5 deadline can be picked up at the dinner.

Shirts feature a ribbon on front with the words Jeff’s Journey, SVFD 13-1, representing Station 13 and the chief as 1. The back features a flag with the fire department logo, Lewis 13-1 and the words “Not all battles are fought in flames.”

Donations will be accepted for the dinner. The shirts are $20 each, with $5 added from 2XL-4XL, with youth sizes available.

Starting at $2.99/week.
