Hanoverton Memorial Day celebration
Hanoverton will be celebrating Memorial Day on Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m. at Betz Park at the gazebo on U.S. Route 30. United High School band will lead off the short parade at 1:45 p.m. The speaker will be District 79 state Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel. In case of rain it will be held in the Hanoverton Presbyterian Church on Plymouth Street. Bring a chair or blanket for seating.
Max Gard-Bill Vodrey hike
The 57th Max Gard-Bill Vodrey hike will be held May 13. The hike will set out at 12:45 p.m. from the Little Red Schoolhouse in Fredericktown: 1878 Jackson St. Hikers will enjoy 3-plus miles on private land in the hills of the Little Beaver Creek watershed, ending at a nearby log cabin.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors 5K
ALLIANCE – Everyone is invited to participate in a 5K run on June 6 to support the Alliance Community Pantry’s mission of “Working within the community to end hunger.”
The Neighbors Helping Neighbors event, organized by State Farm Insurance agentJon Schleuder, is a5K community-focused run/walk designed to bring together local residents, businesses, and organizations to support families facing food insecurity in Alliance.
All proceeds and collected food items will benefit the Alliance Community Pantry.
The event will take place on the Iron Horse Trail, a well-known and accessible local route, and will be open to runners, walkers, families, and supporters of all ages and abilities.
Sponorships to gain levels of recognition include Bronze ($100), Silver ($200) and Gold ($300).
