LISBON — Senior students in the Welding and Fabrication class at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center (CCCTC) recently put their technical skills to work for the community.

Under the guidance of instructor Michael Boyle, the class partnered with the Columbiana County Emergency Management Agency to tackle a specialized equipment challenge. The students were tasked with modifying existing industrial carts to meet the rigorous demands of emergency response.

Through precise welding and structural fabrication, the seniors successfully retrofitted the carts to safely transport sensitive radiological equipment. This collaboration not only provided the students with real-world engineering experience but also enhanced the local EMA’s ability to mobilize critical tools during potential emergencies.

Starting at $2.99/week.
