COLUMBIANA — Crestview Elementary School has officially earned a 5-year STEM designation, recognizing the school’s commitment to high-quality science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education through innovative, student-centered learning experiences.

Awarded by Ohio Department of Education and Workforce based on the recommendation from Ohio STEM learning Network, the designation highlights Crestview Elementary’s dedication to creating authentic learning opportunities that prepare students for future careers through collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving. Students at Crestview Elementary regularly engage in hands-on STEM activities, engineering design challenges, project-based learning, and partnerships with local businesses and community organizations.

“This recognition reflects the incredible work of our teachers, students, families, and community partners,” said Allison Lemaster, Crestview Elementary principal. “Our staff has worked tirelessly to create meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity and innovation in every classroom.”

A key component of Crestview Elementary’s STEM success has been the strong support and collaboration from local business and industry partners who provide students with authentic connections to real-world careers and applications of STEM learning.

To celebrate this achievement, the Crestview Local School District Board of Education will recognize the school and its valued business partners during the June 10 Board of Education Meeting. Community partners who have supported STEM programming, career connections, design challenges, and student learning opportunities will be honored for their continued investment in Crestview students and the future of education.

The 5-year designation signifies that Crestview Elementary has demonstrated excellence in STEM education practices and has built sustainable systems that will continue to support innovation and student achievement for years to come.
