Giant Eagle recalls roasted turkey sold in prepared foods departments due to potential presence of metal fragments
PITTSBURGH – Giant Eagle, Inc., has issued a voluntary recall of roasted turkey items produced at Fresh Foods Manufacturing in Freedom, Pennsylvania and sold in the prepared foods departments in Giant Eagle and Market District locations across western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia and Indiana due to the potential presence of metal fragments.
The potential issue was discovered during routine inspection. There have been no reports of illness or other adverse reactions to date associated with this voluntary recall.
The recalled roasted turkey products were sold starting in supermarket prepared foods departments starting on April 28, 2026. Additional product details include (product, UPC, best by date):

Customers who have purchased the affected product should not consume it and instead should discard the product. Customers may bring a qualifying receipt to their local Giant Eagle or Market District to receive a refund. Customers with questions on this recall may contact Giant Eagle Customer Care at 1-800-553-2324 Monday through Friday from 8:00A a.m. to 8:00 p.m. eastern and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern.
In addition to this public communication regarding this recall, Giant Eagle also initiated its consumer recall telephone notification process. The consumer recall process uses purchase data and consumer telephone numbers housed in the myPerks loyalty card database to alert those households that purchased the affected product and have updated telephone contact information in Giant Eagle’s database.
