EAST LIVERPOOL – Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center, 12798 Echo Dell Road, will host Homing Pigeons for Beginners from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, June 7. This program is suitable for all ages and anyone who would like to learn how pigeons have been used in the past for sending messages and how they are still used today for racing events.

Join Shawn Nelson under the pavilion as he talks about how to raise and race homing pigeons. Nelson has some beautiful birds with a variety of colors and markings. He will have live birds to show and will release some birds at the end of the program.

Literature will be available for how to be successful with this hobby, but it is a program all can enjoy. There will also be a free raffle for kids and beginners where the winner will receive a pair of pigeons to raise for racing and Nelson will help get it all set up.
