Southern Local Junior-Senior High School aviation students Daniel Peters and Aiden Galloway got to sit behind the controls of an aircraft while local pilot Rob Hovanec shared information during a visit by the school’s aviation students to the Salem AirPark. They and other students viewed many aircraft at the airport, interviewed local pilots about their experiences and observed a demonstration by Hovanec, also a Mahoning County sheriff’s deputy, of a drone used by the department.
