NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — Starting May 18, the intersection of state routes 558 and 164 southeast of Leetonia will be an all-way stop.

Signs to alert drivers of the changes will be placed approximately two weeks prior and will remain on site for approximately 30 days after the change to remind motorists of the new traffic pattern. All approaches of the intersections will be equipped with dual Stop Ahead warning signs.

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is improving safety at select intersections statewide by converting standard, two-way stop intersections to all-way stop following examples in other states where the change brought improved safety.

ODOT will continue to monitor the intersections to ensure the all-way stop is operating as intended.
