In honor of the United States 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026, the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 290, Columbiana undertook a beautification project and planted 250 flowers at the Legion Post 290. Many local nurseries and stores contributed to the cost of the undertaking. Also, the Columbiana Southside Middle School National Honor Society students placed 250 flags around the plantings.
