Winona Strawberry Festival

The Winona Area Historical Society will sponsor its 13th Annual Winona Strawberry Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at corner of Winona Road and Cameron Street in Winona (GPS address: 32114 Winona Road, Hanoverton, OH 44423)

The community gathering will feature food from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., including barbecued chicken halves, sandwiches, sides, homemade desserts, strawberry topping for homemade ice cream and more. In celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary, historical societies and museums from all over Columbiana County will be on the grounds to display/demonstrate items unique to their area, such as Underground Railroad, ceramics, archives, flax scutching, Quaker Meeting Houses, canals, Ohio River life, industry, county history, farm life, Charles Burchfield, beehive coke ovens.

A live sale by Kiko Auctions at 2 p.m. includes items donated by local businesses and community members for the benefit of the Winona Area Historical Society. Donated items are welcome until Friday, June 26. Contact Vivienne at 330-332-4322. Cash and personal checks are accepted forms of payment.

Free parking is available on the WAHS property east of the Meeting House.

Banquet in Salem

The Dine in or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem will be served from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building, sponsored by the Salem Kiwanis Club. The menu will include chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, applesauce, fresh vegetables and fruit, and cupcakes. Dine in will park in designated area behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. Celebrating Seniors Lunch

First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., Columbiana, is hosting a free Celebrating Seniors Lunch from noon to 2 p.m. June 25. The catered lunch is free (free will offering accepted). Bingo will follow lunch. Make reservations with Judy by June 23 at 330-482-2666.
