OSU Student Send-Off Picnic Set for Aug. 13
The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Columbiana County will hold its annual Summer Student Send-Off Picnic on Thursday, Aug. 13 at Pavilion 4, Firestone Park, Columbiana. Meet and greet is at 5:30 p.m. with a catered meal at 6 p.m. All alumni and their families, incoming freshman and current OSU students and their families as well as friends of OSU are invited. All OSU students in attendance will be entered in a drawing for two $250 door prizes. Non-student adults are asked for a donation to offset event costs. Salem Historical Society offering Hands-on History program
Salem Historical Society will host a Hands-on History for ages 9-12 from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 5. Children will hear stories of the nation's history from Civil War reenactors and have the opportunity to view and handle historical artifacts. Registration is required. Cost is $10 per child. Register and pay online at SalemHistoricalSociety.org or in person Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Friends of the Banquet to sponsor Banquet in Salem
The Dine in or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem will be served from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building, sponsored by Friends of the Banquet. The menu will include fried chicken, diced potatoes with onions and peppers, corn, coleslaw, fresh vegetables and fruit, and pudding. Dine in will park in designated area behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle.
