Shawshank Redemption screening at Waterworth Memorial
The Salem Parks Commission will host a screening of The Shawshank Redemption Saturday at the Waterworth Memorial Park Bandshell as part of the America 250 celebration and Ohio Goes to the Movies. Food and snacks will be available starting at 8 p.m., with the movie starting at dusk.

Learn the Art of Quick Pickling with OSU Extension Mahoning County
CANFIELD - OSU Extension Mahoning County wil host a Quick Pickling workshop on Friday, Aug. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Mahoning County Extension Office, 490 S. Broad St.
Participants will learn the basics of quick pickling, including preparing brines, creating flavorful combinations, understanding food safety, and properly storing pickled foods. Using seasonal produce, attendees will explore a variety of pickled items and discover simple ways to incorporate them into everyday meals. Each participant will leave with recipes, samples and the confidence to continue quick pickling at home.
The registration fee is $15 per person. Note that registrations are non-refundable. Registration is available online at go.osu.edu/pickling8.
