Salem Hunting Club to host Lowell Iden Memorial fundraiser Aug. 1

SALEM - The Salem Hunting Club will host its 23rd Annual Lowell Iden Memorial Trap Shoot and Breakfast Fundraiser Aug. 1.
The event is open to the public. The all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served 7 to 11 a.m. for $8. Trap shooting starts at 9 a.m. Cost is $5 per round (ammo not included). Lunch will be made available.
All proceeds go to the Scholarship fund.
The event honors the memory of past SHC President Lowell Iden, who led the club for over 10 years.
A memorial scholarship fund in his name and fellow sport shooting enthusiast Larry Iler was established to commemorate their encouragement of local youth to participate in shooting sports, especially trap shooting.
The Iden-Iler Scholarship Trust is headed up by Janet Iden.
All proceeds from the event go toward the scholarship fund.
The Iden-Iler Scholarship is a college scholarship awarded to students with a major field of study in agriculture, biology, wildlife conservation or environmental science along with a personal commitment to outdoor sports.
The number of scholarships awarded varies from year to year and depends on the number of entrants and their qualifications.
The 2026 recipients and will be presented their scholarship awards Saturday, Aug. 1, during the event.
