Benjamin Firestone Unit #290 American Legion Auxiliary in Columbiana co-sponsored four students from Columbiana High School that attended Buckeye Girls State (BGS) 80th annual session held at Bowling Green State University in June 2026. Delegates attended the August Auxiliary meeting along with their parents and spoke about their experiences at the session. Delegates had the opportunity to learn about city, state and county government while developing their leadership and communication skills. Joining the Columbiana Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary in sponsoring delegates were the New Waterford Lions, Columbiana Rotary Club, and Youngstown Area Business and Professional Club.
