Beaver Local Class of 1966 reunion
The Beaver Local High School Class of 1966 will hold its 60th Class Reunion at the Ezio's Restaurant Banquet Room in Salem from 4 to 5 p.m. Sept. 5. The cost is $30 a person and it will be a buffet style dinner. Also a cash bar. There will be prizes and a 50/50 drawing. Reservations can be made by calling Rosemary Prokop Bruehler at 330-385-9369 and she will provide her address to mail a check.
Annual Lincoln Highway Buy Way Yard Sales return Aug. 13-15
The historic Lincoln Highway was the first transcontinental road for automobile travel in the United States, dedicated in 1913 and extending from New York City's Times Square to San Francisco's Lincoln Park. Combined, various routes across Ohio comprise over 400 miles today.
Past year's sales have seen families, neighbors, and groups of all kinds selling their wares from yards, porches, barns and garages; under tents and in open-air locations.
This novel idea began in 2005 and has spawned a variety of activities from Convoy, near the Indiana state line, to East Liverpool on the Ohio River across from West Virginia. A number of communities have group sales in public parks and other locations. The sales will run from Thursday, Aug. 13 through Saturday, Aug. 15. Columbiana County communities along the route include East Rochester, Kensington, Hanoverton, Lisbon, St. Clair Township, Glenmoor and East Liverpool. Stark County communities along the route include Massillon, Perry Heights, Canton, East Canton, Robertsville and Minerva.

Lisbon community partners with Lisbon Schools for Community Meet-the-Team Night, School Supply Giveaway
The Lisbon community is rallying around The Blue Devils to kick off the fall sports season on Saturday, Aug. 15 with a full schedule of fun, food, and activities.
Several community groups including VFW4111, Eagles 2216, Lisbon Lions Club, New Presbyterian Church and the American Legion are partnering with Lisbon teachers, parents, and the Touchdown Club for an evening of free food, free games, and free entertainment. Free school supplies will be distributed at the event courtesy of Lisbon's New Presbyterian Church.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with a Meet-the-Teams parade and will continue with activities and the free school supply giveaway until 8 p.m. Local food vendor, Big Woo's, will cater the event free of cost.
Lisbon's inaugural "Meet the Team Community Event" will be hosted at War Memorial Stadium.
