Hanoverton Canal Days
Hanoverton will celebrate its community spirit and local history during Canal Days on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. along Plymouth Street. The event will feature a variety of vendors, food, a car show, a memorial parade and activities for the whole family. Visitors can enjoy hot dogs provided by the Hanoverton Fire Department, beans and cornbread served by the Historical Society, and coffee from Meg's Coffee. The Spread Eagle Tavern will offer special selections at the back entrance. A bake sale will also be hosted by the Presbyterian Church. Car enthusiasts are invited to attend the car show, which will be held at the corner of State Route 9 and Carroll Street. The Dan Kibler Memorial Parade will take place at noon, bringing the community together to honor his memory. Canal Days T-shirts will be available for pre-order through Busy Bee T's.Those interested in participating as vendors can reserve a spot at no cost by providing an item for the event raffle. Vendors and anyone seeking setup information are encouraged to contact organizers through Facebook.
Friends of the East Palestine Memorial Public Library Flavors of Fall
The Friends of the East Palestine Memorial Public Library is sponsoring their annual fall event entitled Flavors of Fall on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. The event will be held in the community room of the Library. Attendees are requested to bring one of their favorite foods for the fall season and the recipe to share. There will be a variety of foods to try and then make the recipe at home. Recipe books will be available at the library for attendees a week after the event. Beverages and table service will be provided. Call the Library at 330-426-3778 to register for the event.
