Salem Historical Society Ghost Trolley Tours
Salem Historical Society Ghost Trolley Tours will be held at 6:30 and 8 p.m. Oct. 2, 10, 16, 24 and 30; and 8 p.m. Oct. 17 and 23. Tour guide Sally Renee will take passengers through Salem after dark and shares some of the stories that have lingered long after the people and the places from which they came. The trolley will load at 239 S. Lundy Ave. Come into the museum 10 to 15 minutes early to check in and pay prior to getting on board. Call 330-337-8514 to make reservations. St. Paul LCBA Announces Fall Events and Projects
Loyal Christian Benefit Association, Branch 654, of St. Paul Parish in Salem, is announcing plans for fall events and projects.
A "Pound Party" will be held during the next meeting, Thursday, Oct. 1, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Salem Senior Housing Club House, 996 W. Perry St. Members are asked to bring an item or two that weighs about 1 pound to enter into the Chinese style auction. Members are also to wear pink in observance of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Household and personal paper products will be collected from members at the meeting. All auction proceeds and paper donations will benefit the Christina House in Lisbon.
Branch 654 will participate in the St. Paul Parish Ministry Fair planned for Oct. 17 and 18 at the school auditorium with an exhibit outlining the benefits of LCBA membership and the mission of the local branch. Members will also provide cookies for the refreshment table during the fair.
The branch's annual homemade soup and bake sale is scheduled for Dec. 12 and 13 at St. Paul School Auditorium.
Fairfield Ruritan Club Annual Chicken Barbecue Dinner
Fairfield Ruritan Club will hold its Annual Chicken Barbecue Dinner at Grace Church on South Main Street in Columbiana on Saturday, serving from 4 to 6 p.m. carry out only. Dinner includes half a chicken, baked potato, green beans, apple sauce and a cookie. Tickets are $12 in advance and $13 at the door. For advance tickets call Rick at 330-921-1173. Proceeds benefit scholarships and local programs.
Lisbon First Christian Church Rummage Sale
First Christian Church, 225 E. Washington St., Lisbon, will hold a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Donations will be accepted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. today through Wednesday.
