Delta Kappa Gamma visits the Gardens at Hippley Village

COLUMBIANA - The Columbiana County Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers' Honorary met recently in Columbiana at The Gardens at Hippley Village. A tour of the facility whose first garden was constructed in 1999 was provided by owner John Hippley. The property features eight gardens and eight waterfalls. Members experienced reconnecting with nature and whimsical storybook characters.

Following the invocation provided by Nancy Dicken, members enjoyed a picnic dinner.

Vice President Ann Hall conducted the business meeting. Both the treasurer's report and minutes were approved. Members were asked to update their biographical information in relation to Delta Kappa Gamma. Hall announced that she and Barbara Lipp will be attending the Executive Board Meeting on Oct. 3 in Dublin. The Tri-County Dinner will be held at A La Cart Catering in Canfield on Oct. 14. Reservations are required.

The next DKG meeting will be held at the New Waterford United Methodist Church as a potluck dinner on Oct. 7 at 5:30 p.m. The program will be provided by Laura Spencer, art instructor at Crestview Elementary.
