COLUMBIANA -- The Down Und Kraut Polka Band will present the next in the series of free Fall Idabelle Firestone Concert Series at the Idabelle Firestone Gathering Place and Garden at Firestone Park on Sunday at 3 pm. (rain venue Columbiana High School). This uplifting group of musicians will play favorite songs featuring the iconic "oom-pah" rhythms of polka music, as well as Octoberfest music as fall turns just around the corner.
An added attraction at this concert will be a performance by music scholar Harrison Hodgson, an eighth grader at Salem High School, who will play a selection on the keyboard. He will be accompanied by his teacher, Jan Cox.
Rounding out the season on Sept. 27 will be the 16-piece Dave Banks Big Band and the Rat Pack, three ultimate tribute tribute performers who will step into the shoes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. for a live performance of famous nostalgic songs, antics and joking, just like the originals.
Attendance and parking for the outdoor performances is free and attendees may enter the main entrance to the park and proceed to the parking lot where shuttles will be available to take visitors to the outdoor hilltop performance amphitheater and covered lawn seating.
The concert series is being sponsored by the Firestone Park Cultural and Custodial Committee, a 501(c) 3 organization. For more information, visit Facebook or call the Firestone Legacy and Event Center at 330-397-4706.
