LISBON -- Students at Lisbon's David Anderson Middle and High School have been preparing a special presentation to mark the somber 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Teachers Ron Witman and Ashley Wallace coordinated the weeks-long, school-wide project with their middle and high school students. Students have conducted extensive research and community interviews to assemble a special presentation today.
While the program will not be open to the public, several community groups have been invited to share in memorializing the timeline of events and personal accounts of the day.
The event aims to inform and educate students about the historically significant events of 9/11 while paying tribute to those who lost their lives in the attacks.
The presentation will culminate in a special remembrance walk. The walk features an outdoor flag display created by Witman's classes. Students wrote the names of each person who perished in the attacks on individual flags to create the display.
