COLUMBIANA - Indigo Theater will present "The Cemetery Club" this weekend with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday in Indigo's brand new Underground Theater, located beneath the Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave.
"The Cemetery Club" is a dramatic comedy by Ivan Menchell about three longtime friends who meet each month for tea and a visit to their husbands' graves. Each woman approaches widowhood differently: Doris holds tightly to the past, Lucille is determined to enjoy life again, and Ida quietly wonders whether she might be ready to open her heart to someone new. When they meet Sam, a kind widower with a loss of his own, their friendship is tested by changing loyalties, unexpected romance, and the difficult question of how to honor the past while still embracing the future. The show is directed by Athena Tausch and features five local actors.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.indigotheater.org ($17 general admission, $14 seniors and students, all fees included in these prices) or at the door ($20 general admission, $15 seniors and students).
