WINONA – The Winona Ruritan Club held its annual Steak Fry/Chicken Breast BBQ dinner June 23 at the Salem Saxon Club. The dinner was one of its Ladies Appreciation nights where members invite their wives or significant other to join in continuing the club’s philanthropic endeavors. Sheriff’s Office — Deputies responded to a motorcycle accident on state Route 154 with reported injuries at 9:05 p.m. Friday, aiding EMS units with rending care to the people involved. Salem to celebrate semiquincentennial with a full slate

SALEM — Salem will be celebrating the nation’s semiquincentennial Friday with a full slate of patriotic programming. The celebrations kick off at 10 a.m. with a dedication ceremony for the city’s new 50-year time capsule at the Liberty Center, located at the corner of North Ellsworth Avenue and East State Street. Salem City Councilwoman and Salem U.S. 250 Liaison Sara Baer said that event would feature a ribbon cutting, live music, speeches and more.
