Perry Township trustees approve retroactive transfer of funds

PERRY TOWNSHIP—The board of trustees gave retroactive approval for a transfer between the township’s accounts in its meeting Monday. The trustees voted unanimously to retroactively approve the transfer of $15,031.41 from the General Fund to the Police Levy Fund on Dec. 24. Fiscal officer John Volio explained the transfer had previously been approved by trustees, but that an official motion hadn’t been made at the time to do so, necessitating the retroactive approval. Kravitz Deli opens Salem location with grand opening today

SALEM — A Youngstown favorite restaurant’s new Salem location is open for business. Kravitz Deli has been operating in Youngstown since 1939 when original owner Rose Kravitz opened the business. In December, owner Matt Rydarowicz, who purchased the business from the Kravitz family in 2022, announced on Facebook he had bought the property at 127 Penn Ave. with the intention of starting a new location in Salem.
